It's hard to believe how much the world of sharing information has changed. In graduate school advertising your clinical practice was ill-advised by all faculty members. At most you were encouraged to print a tasteful "announcement" on heavy cardstock and send it to clinicians you thought might refer a patient to you. Sharing information within the session was even more discouraged. It's quite common for patients to ask your opinion about a dilemma they face. Direct requests like this were only to be answered by reflecting back to the patient: "what do YOU feel about that dilemma?" or interpreting the patient's questioning, "You seem to think I might solve this for you." Now, here I am 20 years later introducing you to my practice with a website, and introducing my way of thinking and writing in a blog posting.
